Westminster International Rotary Club

International in our membership, spirit and outlook

ABOUT US

The Westminster International Rotary Club was chartered in March 1948 as Rotary Club of Westminster East. We changed our Club name in 2016 to reflect the truly international nature in our membership and outlook. Over 75 years we have constantly looked for ways to serve the community in which we are based.

Our Club currently has 31 members, both ladies and gentlemen, representing many different professions and nationalities with an average age of 45. The club has a distinct international feel and outlook with members from Albania, Australia, Barbados, Cote d’Ivoire, Germany, Ghana, Great Britain, Greece, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Mauritius, Netherlands, New Zealand, Slovakia, Sweden, Turkey, Uganda.  We believe the international makeup of our club is essential to our success and reflects the diversity in London and our community.

With this in mind, the Club will use its collective talents to continue to do the things that it does well and which improve the live in the community. In consequence, we will continue to support Pimlico Puffins, The Soho Community Centre, KidsOut, KidsBuild, English Conversation Clubs, Soup Kitchen at St. Patrick’s Church, and offer as much as we can to our community. As its sponsoring club, we will also continue to support and promote the Westminster International Rotaract Club.

Naturally we will also continue to support Rotary’s own charity Thanks for Life/End Polio Now, which has come very close to eliminate one of the nastiest diseases worldwide.

Membership development remains a priority and the focus will be on increasing our membership and maintain our diversity. We welcome interest from anyone living or working in Westminster or those who wish to join a central London service club.
